Arise and Live, Beloved…
My heart longs to burst, perhaps then the ache and emptiness might escape. My soul seeks contentment, and yet finds no comfort. These wounds of the past that I thought to have healed, now allow for a new pain, one that resonates deep within my being. I am in longing, yet nothing will quench this thirst. I desire, yet nothing shall relieve this hunger. I am in need of cleansing waters, yet these endless tears cannot make me clean. I open my mouth to speak, yet no one hears my cries. I open my eyes to see, yet I continue to stumble in darkness…
From the silence, my heart’s beating fills my ears - a mild comfort amidst the loneliness. It’s sweet whispers turn to singing, serenading and soothing my soul. Yes, for His voice calls from somewhere deep within;
“Beloved, precious beloved…Awake, my love…Oh, sleeper, rise; for My life has been shined upon you…”
I breathe in deep, and His sweet aroma fills my lungs. His life flows throw my veins, tickles my nose, brings warmth to my fingertips. In my sorrow, He has rescued me, in my weakness, He cries to me, “live!”; Yes, my Beloved, yes, I am alive…
“And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ Yes, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’. I made you thrive like a plant in the field; and you grew, matured, and became very beautiful…Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine…You were exceedingly beautiful, and succeeded to royalty. Your fame went out among the nations because of your beauty, for it perfect through My splendor which I had bestowed on you”, says the Lord. - Ezekiel 16:6-8, 13
